When you wake up to a boom...

and then there is no power, it's no good. Especially when you watch shows like Walking Dead religiously.... So this morning, yes, we woke up to a boom. Randy said it sounded like an explosion...I thought maybe a gunshot or something. I could tell it was close, but I didn't really think too much of it, we live in the country, booms happen...until the fan slowly stopped spinning, and the lights didn't work when we got out of bed. So we go out on the front porch to see if any of the neighbors have any power, and it looks like they don't. (This is where I get worried that the zombies will come running around the house to eat us...hahaha!) I then see the girl that lives next door run out and down the road, I asked if she had power, and she says "our transformer just fell..." SO that was the boom...and how did it "just fall." They are a strange bunch...so I'm guessing they did something stupid to cause it to collapse. Needless to say it was an interesting morning trying to get the kids dressed and ready for school...with Iphone flashlights...and Rowan's Penguin flashlight toy. I brought my hair styling stuff to work and did my hair there. I really hope when I get back home later on tonight, that we have power. Homework, Dinner, Baths...none of that will be happening in the dark. Plus Randy's shower stopped giving him water halfway through...he wasn't too happy about that, since he was still soapy. He had to use a gallon of the drinking water to rinse...ice bucket challenge anyone? Randy did his twice! Haha...BUT in all of the craziness that happened early this morning, Randy said "Well, the day can only get better from here!" Way to be positive honey! One of the millions of reasons I love that man! :)

Time flies when you're having fun

At least that's my excuse for not posting in a year. Yes a year. But...in my defense, it has been one hell of a year. :) Randy finally proposed in January, on our 2nd anniversary of dating. In the freezing cold winter snow on the steps of the Art Museum. We had an amazing wedding 6 months later. Randy's mom, Shelley, was practically our wedding planner, and really if it wasn't for her, we wouldn't have had such a perfect day. The entire thing turned out gorgeous. Not a detail was missed. It was absolutely perfect. Here is one of my favorite pictures from the day!!

June and July...is it really almost August!? And some pictures.

So, it seems the time has been flying and I haven't posted in a while! Imagine that. Haha. The Hero Rush has come and gone, its a firefighter themed obstacle race for those of you that havent heard of it. We ran in a team created in memory of Keith. We all did really great and the guys did awesome! There were over 1600 runners and our team came in fastest and also won largest team. Very cool. I was just ecstatic that I completed the whole thing, 4.9 miles and 19 obstacles, without dying. :D That was on June 22nd. Here are a few pictures:

The next week Randy had to go in and get a hernia repaired. He has had it for a little while but didn't want to get it done until after the race so he could still run it. Here he is before surgery waiting to be taken back...

The next day (June 29th) Tate and Rowan were in my aunt Michelle's wedding. Ring bearer and flower girl. They had a blast!!

Also, we got an awesome deal on a trampoline. I'm pretty sure I was more excited than the kids. :) They were pumped when they found out we got one.

This weekend is going to be jam packed with fun stuff too. We have a Mud Hens game tomorrow night with fireworks after, that was Randy's Father's Day present. We are pretty excited to go! Then Saturday we have a get together to go to at Sam and Melissa's house and the kids are ecstatic to see "Lyla from Tball" and "Logan from bible school" ...when do kids just start calling their friends by their names? It's still all labels around here. Haha. Then Sunday is the CrossFit Games viewing party with everyone from the gym and I can't wait to see it...(did I mention I started CrossFit!? I haven't died yet so keep your finger crossed!!) Should be an awesome weekend. :)

Memorial Day weekend family fun!

The past couple of weeks have been fast, super busy, a little down in the dumps really for a couple of reasons...it was pretty cold outside still for a while, then Randy and I both had car trouble (I'd say this is on going, but neither of us want a car payment until our cars actually die for good...haha) and I have been having a ton of issues with Josh about school districts. I really want the kids to go to school in my district. I only kept them in Josh's when we divorced because I felt Tate needed that routine that he was used to with Lake Schools and the Help me Grow program and Early Intervention and all of that...but now, things are drastically different. He doesnt need to utilize those programs anymore, he no longer has any special needs, he is doing amazing, and he WANTS to go to Genoa. It was always on my mind once I moved to Genoa, but the whole fight of it wasnt really something I wanted to deal with. Now though, the issue of Rowan starting Kindergarten has come up. I would just leave it be except Lake schools have lost so much funding that they now only have two K teachers, meaning only 2 full days of school a week. The schedule is really confusing actually. One class will go tuesday and thurs, the other will go weds and fri, and both classes will alternate mondays. This is going to be ridiculous, Rowan is going to lose so much learning time, the schedule in general is going to make daycare a nightmare. Plus I think its just dumb. The other option is that the kids get switched to Genoa, where I live anyways (only like 5 minutes further for Josh currently) where Rowan would be able to go monday through friday all day, like Taysen did. Obviously this is the more beneficial choice for Rowan. Of course, Josh is refusing to compromise with me on the issue. Its his way or no way, regardless if its better for the kids or not. So the fight has begun, and I get no where fast with him...so I'm gonna do what I have to do to try to get them into Genoa before Kindergarten starts. Ready, set, go...or should I say Ready, Set, Wait....things with attorneys never move quickly. Well...let the battle begin...and cross your fingers for me!

Luckily this past holiday weekend I did get to get a little break from the stress of it all. We went camping with Randy's family and really had a good time. I love camping. Even Attie had fun playing with all of his doggy friends. :) The kids got to go for one of the days when I got them back from Josh, and they were so excited once they found out what we were doing. Plus, who doesnt love smores...especially with Reese cups!? And the camping food was delicious...just sayin'! We went to the Point Place festival too so that was nice, of course I got some cotton candy...and a slush. Randy rode a firetruck ride with Landon and got some pretty cute pictures. :) Bentley and Mer liked the ponies. Well Bentley started with a smile on his face, but was ready to be done by time it was over. Haha...still an all around good time. My kids didnt get to do the festival because they were still with their dad at that point...but it was still fun. This weekend will make up for it though because they will get to do rides and eat the carnival food at Genoa's Homecoming. There is a parade and fireworks on saturday so it should be a really good time. Im hoping it doesnt rain all weekend like it says its supposed to!! Anyways, here is a little pic of Tate, Rowan, and Landon doing sparklers together. :)

Tball is a hit...

The kids love Tball. It's so cute. They got their shirts this week after practice and Rowan couldn't wait to wear hers. She had to throw it on over her outfit. Tate tossed me his and said "Just keep it for your week!" :) I snapped a couple shots of them Wednesday at practice. Tate is almost as tall as the rest of the kids...his feet don't quite touch the ground from the dugout seat yet, but maybe soon! They are both learning the game so much faster than I thought. I'm a proud mommy!!

T Ball, warm weather, and my very first Prom...and a couple pics!

So I know, I'm slacking and it's been a while. But in my defense, I've been super busy and kinda sorta stressed lately with some pretty big stuff. I will fill you in on the stress soon, just have to wait a bit until I know more.

In good news, the warmer weather has seemed to finally make its way here. I am so glad! The sun makes me happy!! I also put the kiddos in Tball and it's both of their very first sport. :) They both love it too, which makes me really happy! I love seeing them out and playing and being active with other kids their age and making friends. I absolutely love it!!

This past weekend Randy also took me to my first dance ever. :) (when I lived in "the bubble" I wasn't allowed to participate in any extra school things like sports or dances...) Randy volunteered to chaperone at his schools Prom so he could take me. :) It was fun, the food was great, and I had a really good time. We even got to take a Prom picture like the kids. Haha, I can't wait to see it. :)

And a couple photos. :)

Hurry up already winter! I'm freezing!!

I am so annoyed with the weather. It's freezing!! I'm sick of being cold. I wish actual spring weather would show up already! Though at least today there is sunshine.

The past few weekends have been busy, but good. We went to splash universe and had a great time. The kids loved it. They love the water. Plus being with family is always fun! Then this past weekend was Easter and I got the kiddos back early so they wouldn't miss out. They had so much fun and I think they both ate really well.

Tate has been sick, coughing, congested and fevers ever since I got him back though, I'm hoping it goes away soon! I have a fun day out with the kids planned for Saturday and I really want him to feel better! Really hoping Rowan doesn't get it too.

I can't wait for warmer weather!! :)
